S-Ljungqvist-diplom-Mellerud-1909-rot2-kopiera.jpg

S. Ljungqvist, diploma from the Dalsland agricultural show, industry and handicraft exhibition 1909, 2nd prize for organs

The rather large pictorial archive contains drawings for instruments as well as photos and films, all conveying such things in our keyboard instrument history that cannot be described by words.

A collection of original full scale drawings for pianos and grand pianos, keyboards and actions is unique for Sweden. They form part of the Conny Carlsson, the Baumgardt and the Bergling collections and are attached to orders received by the Anders Sjögren keyboard workshop in Herrljunga.

Also the collection of diplomas and medals given to Swedish factories at exhibitions here at home and at world fairs abroad are unique in its kind in Sweden. There are for example a dozen diplomas given to Malmsjö (1865-1928), half a dozen to C.B. Pettersson in Herrljunga (1907-1929) and a few to Joh. Hagdahl (1893, 1906), S. Ljungqvist (1909), J.P. Löfberg (1897), Östlind & Almquist (1901) and P.L. Åkerman (1866).

Old photos represent factory buildings in addition to interiors showing the different stages of production. There are larger series of production photos from the Östlind &Almquist, the Baumgardt and the S. Ljungqvist companies with for example glass negatives with all the reed organ models Ljungqvist made in the factory. Especially valuable are group portraits of the Östlind & Almquist staff 1896-1948 with lists of names.

Three films from the Malmsjö and Östlind & Almquist factories of 1927 and 1936 are as far as known quite unique. Some video recordings of the manufacturer Uno Bergling are part of the of Herrljunga municipality collection.
